Mari Boine

Mari Boine (b. 1956) is known, acclaimed and awarded for her persistence propagation of the original old sami language from the northernmost parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland. But Mari's understanding of spirituality runs deeper. It is about her culture, where the spiritual is a real part of reality. Mari Boine released over a dozen albums and is a cornerstone of indigenous music.

Her album “Amame” with the internationally acclaimed pianist Bugge Wesseltoft was released September 2023. The single "Eadnán bákti" from the album is a song that speaks to the feminine in all of us, and to the unity between humans and nature. Sámi and English lyrics are provided in the liner notes.
