Mari Boine (b. 1956) is known, acclaimed and awarded for her persistence propagation of the original old sami language from the northernmost parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland. But Mari's understanding of spirituality runs deeper. It is about her culture, where the spiritual is a real part of reality. Mari Boine released over a dozen albums and is a cornerstone of indigenous music.
Herr upcoming album is recorded with the internationally acclaimed pianist Bugge Wesseltoft (b. 1964), and all lyrics are in sami. The 1st single from the forthcoming album is "Eadnán bákti". A song that speaks to the feminine in all of us, in nature and the unity between human and nature. Album out September 29th.
